In 2023, our founder was managing three vacation rentals across different cities. Great properties. Five-star reviews. Professional photos. Everything “by the book.”

But the bookings weren’t coming.

Despite following every Airbnb optimization guide and hiring a traditional property manager, the properties stayed buried on page 3 and 4 of search results. Meanwhile, nearly identical properties—sometimes in worse condition—were dominating page 1.

The realization hit hard: Traditional property management solves the wrong problem.

The Birth of RankCohost

We spent six months reverse-engineering how Airbnb and Vrbo rank properties. We analyzed over 10,000 top-performing listings. We tested hundreds of title variations, description structures, and photo orders. We tracked how response times affected ranking. We measured everything.

Then we built an AI to do it automatically.

By combining machine learning with hands-on property management, we created something that didn’t exist: a cohosting service that treats search ranking as seriously as guest experience.
